Based on the story before Street Fighter II and after Street Fighter, Street Fighter Alpha show young versions of Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li, with new entryes like Rose (the third woman of Street Fighter games), and Charlie, Nash in the original japanese game, who has the friend of Guile, subsequently killed by Bison.
From the first Street Fighter come back Birdie, Adon and Sagat.
Other two characters, Guy and Sodom, come from Final Fight, another game by Capcom.
Akuma and M.Bison come back like hidden characters.
Another hidden new entry, destined to become a character of success, is Dan Hibiki. He is a parody of Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia from Art of Fighting, and generally SNK games, the principal competitor of Capcom. Dan is a very funny fighter.
